Centaline Charity Fund Scholarship
Overview
Aim
Centaline Charity Fund Scholarship (Scholarship) is established by Centaline Charity Fund Limited, which aims to award and support full time secondary school students in Hong Kong with outstanding academic achievements for their full time first undergraduate degree studies (Year 1) in local, Mainland or overseas universities in academic year 2023-24.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
1. be permanent residents of Hong Kong or have resided in Hong Kong continuously for not less than 3 years and either their fathers / mothers must be permanent residents of Hong Kong;
2. have completed full-time senior secondary education in Hong Kong;
3. have attained excellent academic results at the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or other equivalent public examinations;
4. financially in need;
5. have great leadership skills; and
6. fulfill all application procedures and admission requirements at the institution of their choices and have been officially admitted by local, Mainland or overseas universities.
Method of Application
Application forms can be downloaded from www.centacharity.com.hk. Applicants must return the completed forms and softcopies of related documents in one or not more than two PDF files via email to ccfscholarship@centamail.com before the closing date. Applications submitted in other formats will not be accepted.
After the screening process, eligible applicants will be invited to attend an interview. Applicants must provide the hard copies of all relevant documents at the interview. Applicants may also be asked to provide further details of their applications during the interview.
Date of Closing of Application for the academic year of 2023-24
23rd August, 2023, 11:59 pm (HKT)
*Applications received after the closing date will not be processed.
Selection Committee
Centaline Charity Fund Limited Council members and independent persons.
Selection Procedures
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the interview via email within a month after the closing date of application. Applicants who have not received email notification during that period may consider the application unsuccessful.
Release of Scholarship
Centaline Charity Fund Limited will issue the scholarship to the awardees or deposit to their personal bank account directly.
Return of scholarship
If the awardee is unable to complete or has to end the academic programme that he / she is pursuing during that relevant academic year regardless of the cause, he / she must return the amount of Scholarship in full to Centaline Charity Fund Limited within three months after the awardee has made the decision or after such situation comes to his / her attention.
Extension on return of Scholarship
If due to financial hardship or other reasons that the awardee is unable to return the full amount of Scholarship during the specified period of time, the awardee may apply to Centaline Charity Fund Limited for an extension of the return of Scholarship. Centaline Charity Fund Limited will consider the applications on a case to case basis.
Submission of reports on academic and extra-curricular activities performances
Awardees must submit softcopy of mid-year and final academic reports and records that indicate his/her participation in extra-curricular activities, awards and exchange programmes etc. All related documents must be emailed to ccf@centamail.com. Applicants that fail to submit related documents may be asked to return any given scholarship.
Change of Personal Information
If applicants to change his / her home address, contact number or email address prior to the release of Scholarship, please notify us and provide any relevant information as soon as possible to ccf@centamail.com via email.
Should the awardee drop out, suspense, temporarily or permanently leave from school during the relevant academic year, please notify and provide relevant information to ccf@centamail.com via email.
